Catholic Reflections

Welcome!

I’m Greg Wasson, a Catholic lay contemplative who writes and produces reflections and meditations for prayer, clarity, and faithful living, and a desire to make spiritual themes accessible for anyone seeking a deeper walk with God. This site, gregwasson.com, is where I gather the reflections to help others find peace, order, and direction in their own spiritual lives. O most merciful Jesus, please let me thank You for the grace You’ve given me by entrusting me to Your holy Mother through the devotion of Holy Bondage. May she be my advocate in Your presence and my support in all my suffering. O Lord! I am so miserable that without this dear Mother, I would surely be lost. Yes, Mary is essential for me, both by Your side and everywhere: that she may calm Your just anger because I have offended You so many times; that she may save me from the eternal punishment I deserve; that she may contemplate You, speak to You, pray to You, approach You, and please You and teach me to do the same; that she may help me save my soul and the souls of others. In short, Mary is necessary so I can always do Your holy will and seek Your greater glory in everything.

I wish I could proclaim throughout the whole world the mercy You have shown Me! I wish everyone knew I would be doomed without Mary! I wish I could offer worthy thanks for such a great blessing! Oh, what a treasure! Oh, what a comfort! And should I not belong entirely to her?

With St. John the Evangelist at the foot of the Cross, I have taken her as my own countless times, and as many times I have given myself to her; but if I have not yet done so as You, O Jesus, wish, I now renew this offering as You desire me to do. And if You see in my soul or body anything that does not belong to this holy queen, I beg You to take it and cast it far from me, for whatever in me does not belong to Mary is unworthy of You.

O Holy Spirit, grant me these graces. Plant in my soul the Tree of true Life, which is Mary; nurture it and tend to it so it may grow, blossom, and produce abundant fruit of life. O Holy Spirit, increase my devotion to Mary, Your faithful spouse; give me confidence in her maternal heart and make her a constant refuge of mercy, so that through her You may truly form Jesus Christ in me. Thank you. Amen.
