Louis Gregory Wasson’s Catholic Reflections

I’m Greg Wasson, a Catholic lay contemplative who writes reflections and meditations for prayer, clarity, and faithful living, and a desire to make spiritual themes accessible for anyone seeking a deeper walk with God. This site, gregwasson.com, is where I gather the reflections to help others find peace, order, and direction in their own spiritual lives.

Hail Mary, my dear Mother, my Beloved, my powerful Sovereign! Hail, my joy, my glory, my heart, and my soul! You are all mine, and I am all yours. But I am not yet completely yours. I now surrender myself totally to you, holding nothing back for myself or others. If you see anything in me that does not belong to you, I beg you to take it and make yourself the absolute Mistress of all that is mine. Remove from me anything that may displease God, uproot it and make it vanish; plant and cultivate in me what pleases you.

May the light of your faith dispel the darkness in my mind; may your humility replace my pride; may your contemplation silence the distractions of my imagination; may the love of your heart ignite the lukewarmness within me; may your virtues replace my sins; may your merits be my adornment before God and make up for all that I lack. I do not ask you for visions or revelations. It is your privilege to see God clearly; it is your privilege to enjoy heavenly bliss; it is your privilege to triumph gloriously in Heaven at the right hand of your Son and to hold absolute sway over angels, men, and demons; it is your privilege to dispose of all the gifts of God, just as you will.

Such is, O heavenly Mary, the “best part,” which the Lord has given you. As for my part here below, I wish for no other than that which was yours: to believe sincerely; to suffer joyfully; to die continually to myself; and to work zealously and unselfishly for you until death as one of your humble servants. I ask you to obtain for me that every day and every moment of my life I may say: Amen, so be it to all that you did while on earth; Amen, so be it to all that you are now doing in Heaven; Amen, so be it-to all that you are doing in my soul, so that you alone may fully glorify Jesus in me for time and eternity. Amen.
